Welcome to Legal Peace

Facing a storm?
Turn to Legal Peace.

When you are going through a traumatic legal situation, you need more than a solicitor to file paperwork and speak for you in court. You need good counsel.

We know you need someone to listen to you, to understand what you are going through, and to help you envision a peaceful resolution to the legal conflict, and to use every tool at our disposal to achieve closure.

Turn to attorney Mary Sullivan Moore and paralegal Linda R. Jones for all matters related to criminal law, juvenile law,  divorce and family law.

WHO WE ARE

The words “good counsel” have fallen into disuse. Legal Peace is reclaiming them.

Humility

To provide good counsel, we stay humble. We listen deeply before we offer advice. We work with you to visualize the outcomes that will bring you peace.

Equanimity

Equanimity is the assurance that comes through experience. At Legal Peace, we draw on years of successful practice — as well as training in alternative holistic therapies — so we can counsel you with calmness and clarity. We attend to all the legal details so you can keep your focus on what matters most.

Resolution

Finally, we are driven to achieve. We recognize that sometimes, resolution may only be won through legal battle. From family struggles to criminal matters, we will fight for you and your children. We aim to help you win every battle and achieve results that will bring you closure.

Trial History

Accused of shooting a victim in front of a busy nightclub, Herman was looking at first-degree murder charges, despite the fact that the police did not question almost 80 witnesses to the event. Carefully interviewing people who were present, Mary discovered evidence suggesting Herman was not carrying a weapon at the time of the shooting and in fact had just been beaten up by a group of men, leaving him to flee from his attackers with a broken jaw. As a result of Mary’s diligence, Herman was found not guilty of murder and was sentenced on the lesser charge of evading arrest.

Defense of First-Degree Murder: Jamaul Herman

Charged with second-degree murder and animal cruelty after a friendly camping trip ended in tragedy, Loftis was in danger of being railroaded into a conviction until Mary looked more closely at the evidence. Using photo records of the condition of the body, as well as physical evidence that the deceased had been drinking heavily before his death, Mary questioned the investigating detective discerningly at trial, ultimately achieving a favorable decision for Loftis.

Defense of Second-Degree Murder: Chance Loftis

Upon re-entering a heated custody battle with the mother of his child, Jacob K. potentially faced the loss of primary custody and equal parenting time that he had previously been rewarded prior to an appeal. After a three day rehearing, Mary’s conscientious efforts and passion for Family Law led to a final decision in Jacob K.’s favor and he was designated the primary residential parent of his child.
